Gastonia Historic Clock

Jim Morasso, of Webb Custom Kitchen and former Gastonia Mayor Jennie Stultz approached us to assist them in doing the content creation, branding, and social media promotion to help bring back Gastonia’s historic clock in 2019. In 1920 the beautiful Citizens National Bank Building was built in the heart of downtown Gastonia. For decades this beautiful clock stood right outside the bank. However, in the mid to late 1970s the clock was removed. The clock has was located in Charlotte on 1100 S. Tryon St and was ready to come back home to Gastonia. Once home, the clock needed a complete restoration, new electrical work, stain glass repair, and a new base built to help her last another 100 years. We started a GoFundMe page and utilized social media to raise over $7000 to assist in the restoration. A t-shirt was designed to assist in fundraising and Cavendish Brewing Company created a beer that donated a portion to the cause. We also helped coordinate two in-person fundraisers at Cavendish Brewing Company and a private fundraiser to raise the remaining amount of the $20,000 needed to restore the clock. A celebration was coordinated on the clock’s 100th birthday to welcome her home as well. This was live-streamed via Facebook due to the limitations of 2020.
