Gaston MAX Festival

OVERVIEW

Branding

The city of Gastonia partnered with Gaston County to plan Gaston MAX (Multicultural Arts Xperience), taking place on March 28, 2020, from 10 AM- 4 PM in downtown Gastonia. The event was delayed due to COVID-19. The City of Gastonia contact us to help with a logo for the event. They originally held a logo contest, but ultimately did not gain too much traction and the entries that were submitted did not line up too well with the theme of the event. The event will have numerous food and non-food vendors, artists, authors, and entertainers.  One of the most crucial parts of the event is the cultural booth component & there will be cultures from around the world represented by local Gaston County businesses. As the event will be showcasing authors, artists, entertainers, and a wide variety of cultures, they wanted the logo to represent that. We designed a logo that had artistic paint-splattered behind hands (the community) holding their culture represented by the book & music note. We utilized a lot of color and an artistic font to go with the aesthetic of the event.
